An expression of solastalgia. A place where I lived for the longest time, 22 years, and which in that period has been taken over by first creeping then rampant suburbanization.
In the 1880s Nietzsche spent several very productive summers high up in the Swiss Engadin. In September 2014 I spent a week on a writing retreat at the Nietzsche Haus in Sils-Maria from which this portfolio emerged. Project to be continued.
In 2006-2007 I visited all 27 capitals of the European Union. Pictures taken with a swinglens Horizon camera. In 2014 I added Zagreb - EU's 28th capital - to the portfolio. The portfolio has been published in the book 'European Capitals. A Photographic Journey'.
Over the last 10 years I have been photographing alpine peaks with a 4x5 inch view camera, in the spirit of the pioneers of alpine photography.
